Parent Involvement

Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.

LOCAL TEAMS

  • We strive to play everyone at tournaments to gain experience in competition to grow all our athletes.
  • Practices are where our players learn the fundamentals of volleyball and improve upon their skills.
  • Missed practices and excessive tardiness will affect playing time at tournaments.
  • PLAYING TIME IS EARNED DURING PRACTICES
  • PLAYING TIME WILL NOT BE EQUAL, DEPENDING ON THE POSITION PLAYED

QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

  • Players- See coaches first (Let our athletes learn to advocate for themselves.)
  • Parent & player- Meet and talk with the coach (Email your coach to schedule a time)
  • During a contest or tournament is not the appropriate time. Wait 24 hours to email the coach after the game/tournament.
